RESIDENCY
No Such Thing As Noise owns a 2000 square foot midcentury abode on the Mississippi river in Nauvoo, Illinois. With a recording studio, floor to ceiling windows, an unobstructed view of the river, and 1.6 acres of wooded land, we have decided to include others in the joy of creating in a space that is inspiring and tranquil.

No Such Thing As Noise has dedicated the first floor to house residents who would like to come and focus on a project that they are currently working on, plan to work on, or have been procrastinating on. The first floor is comprised of a large bedroom with a limestone bathroom and walk-in closet, a living area with a fireplace, and two accessible patios. While at their stay, residents will have access to the living and studio space, a large garage, and the surrounding land to work on their project. A meal plan will be provided during the stay, with simple and healthy meals that honors any and all dietary needs. Laundry will also be serviced during the stay. By eliminating the burden of cooking and laundry, residents will be able to focus in on their creative endeavor. Complimentarily, we find that taking breaks to connect with the land is a very rewarding experience. Residents are encouraged, but not required, to contribute to projects on the land.

An upright Yamaha piano and an array of some of the most coveted vintage synths and drum machines are available for resident musicians. The second floor has a music studio where artists can record their concepts and even leave with a finished product. Although the No Such Thing As Noise residency is best equipped for musicians, we encourage professionals and artists of all disciplines to attend. We are happy to discuss how we can make your space and stay ideal for your creative needs.

A final focus of the residency is community, sharing ideas, and encouraging creative feedback between artists. We invite visiting artists to discuss their ideas and dreams during their stay. Sometimes it is difficult to express and execute a concept, and we believe in the power of processing through ideas and pieces with ourselves and others.
Upon arriving to Nauvoo, Illinois, we have noticed a handful of small towns that surround the area. We are engaging with these communities and, in return, offer a safe and productive place for creatives to engage.
Right now, we are looking for collaborators and funding. We are happy to brainstorm and share ideas on how we can bring this motivating experience and peaceful space to fellow artists.
